About Me
Heyo! I'm J or _whitetxt on the internet, and I do software dev.
I am primarily a back-end dev but I have been known to dabble in some front-end stuff from time to time. I've been writing software for around 6 years, and enjoy it a lot.
I use Python as my main language, but I also have experience using C#lang, JavaScript#lang, PHP#lang and Flutter#lang.
In addition to these, I have lots of experience using LaTeX#lang to typeset and format documents, creating multiple large documents using it.
Currently I am doing my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at University of Staffordshire London, on track for a first class degree!
Experience
I have participated in the CyberCenturion, a cyber security competition in which competitors must audit multiple different Unix systems to find and solve security vulnerabilites, a few times. In the last competition I participated in, CyberCenturion IX, the team I led came 5th in the UK. I am now assisting my fellow competitors from my School by tutoring them and passing down the knowledge I gained from the competition and University.
I have worked as part of a team with punch#comp to create a Metaverse area for them inside of Decentraland. I acted as the lead developer, with my other team members working on the graphic design and 3D modelling required for the project.
I have previously worked with flyLAT, where I designed a front-end for their application using PHP#lang, JavaScript#lang and TailwindCSS#lang.
I've also created a virtual money system to compensate students who help out with my University's news system. This used PHP#lang, TailwindCSS#lang and JavaScript#lang, and used a bunch of new concepts to allow for contactless spending of their money via secure QR codes.
University
As previously mentioned, I'm studying for a BSc in Computer Science, well into my second year at this point and I'm still keeping up with the high grades, I'm excited to see where the rest of this year will take me and what sort of grade I will graduate with.
I've also been doing some broadcast stuff at the Uni, helping to run events and streams to much success :D
I'm really enjoying being on a broadcast team and I'm not totally sure at the moment if I want to go into broadcasting or software development anymore.
